I'm getting married!

I recently got engaged to my long time girlfriend, Margie.  How exciting!  I get to be on the other side of the camera!  I had Josh Rodriguez hide in the bushes to take pictures of my proposal.  Margie was completely taken by surprise...even though we've been dating for a while, we never really talked about getting married!  Of course she really goes for all this cheesy romantic stuff, so I kept her totally in the dark while I ordered the ring and planned the entire proposal.  However I just assumed she would be home when I was going to ask her...and she was out shopping with her mom instead!  Luckily her dad came up with a plan...he got them back to her parents' house and pretended there was a power outage so Margie wouldn't stay and watch TV.  But when her dad was pretending to be on the phone with the electric company, Margie just happened to open the fridge...only to see the light come on!  Margie's dad forgot to turn off the breaker switch to the fridge!  Luckily Margie didn't think anything of it, and drove over to my apartment.  As the sun was going down we went on a walk around the local park where I proposed...thank you Josh for capturing this once in a lifetime moment for us!

"Will you be my princess?"
(all girls cry at this point)

Actually she's shielding her eyes from the bling

"Hey this looks good on me!"

A little explaining why it took so long to pop the question...

"Are you sure its real?  Weren't you going to buy another camera with that money?"

"Of course I'll marry you!"

 ;)

Well my job here is done!  Now she has to plan the rest of it!

What a crazy and fun Memorial Day weekend! I drove to Austin, TX to photograph Kim and Dan's wedding at the House on the Hill. They are such a fun and relaxed couple. The occasional rain didn't bother them! Although they had the quickest ceremony in the history of weddings...in 5 minutes I managed to switch 3 lenses and get the pictures I wanted! We ended up partying until 3am, then I woke up early and drove back to Dallas to shoot another wedding on Sunday afternoon! Good times, good times!

So its been a while since I blogged...

I'm in Australia this week and I just have to post some pictures from my visit to Currumba Wildlife Preserve today. This place is ridiculous because you can get REALLY close to some of the native animals. It was just plain fun so I hope you all enjoy.

This train is actually going about 3 mph.

I'm not above a bribe to get a good shot!

Sorry I ran out of food!

And you thought I was lazy...

feeding time...just be careful where you step

You talkin to me punk?

Aboriginal dancers...however only one of these folks is an Aborigine. And its the guy who isn't dancing.

I had a thing for backlit images today...
